ANNUAL REVIEW

2007-2008

Mercator had a successful year last year and saw the diversification not only of products but of customers as well. Mercator completed implementation of the IT infrastructure and solutions needed for the Premier Inn property at Dubai Investment Park with two other Premier Inn properties in the pipeline.

During 2008, Mercator’s revenue accounting product, 'RAPID', was implemented at Syrian Arab Airline, Philippine Airlines, (the flagship carrier of Philippines), Garuda, Jet Lite -formerly 'Air Sahara' and Serbia’s JAT Airways. Mercator further increased RAPID's market presence in Africa with contract wins at Air Algerie, Tunis Air, Sudan Airways, Ethiopian Airlines and Libyan Arab Airlines. SriLankan and Etihad Airways upgraded to the latest release of RAPID, while West Jet, (the second largest Canadian carrier), went live with Mercator's business process outsourcing for interline accounting. Finally, MASkargo and Gulf Air upgraded their MIS capability with Mercator’s state of the art revenue accounting intelligence tool ‘RADAR’.

Mercator continued to host a number of airlines and are well positioned to provide integrated solutions including new user interfaces, revenue integrity, GDS bypass and e-commerce initiatives with its Passenger Solution. The four customers for this system are SriLankan, Yemenia, Air Algerie and Kuwait Airways.

CRM and loyalty expanded its user base, implementing CRIS for Etisalat, the largest telecommunications provider in the UAE. Other implementations underway include Aero Mexico and Cyprus Airways.

Mercator has had great success with its new generation cargo solution, SkyChain, highlights for Mercator during 2008 included Swiss WorldCargo going live with new cargo technology, following in the footsteps of Emirates SkyCargo and Midex where SkyChain redefined their end-to-end cargo operations.  Virgin Atlantic and SriLankan also opted for SkyChain after a rigorous selection process in 2008.

Mercator’s hospitality solution, DaeX had a good year in 2008. The solution is a unique web service and is already integrated with many ranked global hotel chains. The DaeX solution in its first months of operation attained certification with the Open Travel Association (OTA) compliant and also received the much coveted international ‘World Travel Award’ for ‘Innovation’ in 2008.

One of the final highlights for Mercator was providing equipment and support to the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby 7’s as sponsor of the media centre; subsequently Mercator repeated its support of the AC Milan Hamburg football match.
