mercator is an IT solution leader in the aviation industry

SANA'A / DUBAI, 12 October 2012 - mercator has signed two major deals with Yemen Airways, the national carrier of Yemen. Also known as Yemenia, the airline has been using RAPID, mercator's revenue accounting system, since 2003. They will now upgrade RAPID to its latest release that provides major industry changes such as the Simplified Interline Settlement (SIS) and Electronic Miscellaneous Document (EMD) processing. Yemenia have also signed an agreement to implement RADAR, mercator's strategic business intelligence tool.

Although the situation in Yemen is challenging, the positive vision of the carrier maintains Yemenia's reach to over 35 destinations, carrying over 1 million passengers annually. The airline aspires for further growth in the region by adding more destinations to its network and new aircrafts to its fleet.

The agreements with mercator are expected to provide Yemenia with the business intelligence required for its tactical operations and to support its expansion plans. The combined strength of RAPID and RADAR will provide the airline a speedy and accurate view on its revenue and yield across the network in order to make competitive business and commercials decisions. The migration to SIS will provide the airline with a total electronic platform to faster and more accurate interline billing and settlement.
