Developed to meet the increased challenges being faced by Hoteliers, Tour Operators and Corporates in accessing information on real-time rates and availability, combined with the ability to book directly with the hotel PMS.. Quite simply DaeX is a free web service that interfaces to either a central reservation system (CRS) or a hotel's property management system (PMS) to an internet booking engine or tour operating system enabling real time automation of bookings.. DaeX allows the hotels of a specific destination to interact and transact in real time with tour operators, wholesalers, and corporate clients. The core aim of DaeX is to provide a business model that will make it easier for the travel businesses and their customers do business with hotels, so that participants:

  • can develop their business
  • retain their customers
  • reduce their costs

Implementing this aim enables destination centric-marketing for chain hotels and serviced apartments and independent properties to participate in. In turn it allows the travel trade quick access and a single overview of availability at a destination at any given time

A unique and patented business process
By combining the technology of Micros Fidelio (myFidelio.net) and Mercator a unique and patented business process is developed that allows Tour Operators and DMCs to transact directly into the CRS/PMSs of properties, thereby reducing confirmation on allocated rooms from up to 48 hours to internet speed. This frees up hotels to then effectively manage the request for non-allocated rooms by agents who have based their requests on real-time availability displayed through DaeX.
A technical definition
DaeX makes use of Micros Fidelio's Opera Web service to enable wholesalers/DMCs to book their allocated rooms with hotels directly within their property management system. This was achieved using Microsoft technologies like Microsoft.Net framework, Microsoft SQL server and Microsoft Windows 2003 Operating Sytstem. Using the same framework a web service was also created to allow direct integration between an agents back office system and DaeX.
